"These make-your-own cards are honestly so useful"
Picked up a few make-your-own cards. Didn’t expect much, honestly. But they were really easy to set up. I added a couple bedtime stories, then some ridiculous little voice notes from the grandparents. My kid grabbed one, popped it in, and just… got it right away.
The best part is being able to swap things out later. New stories, new messages, whatever we’re into that week. It’s made the Yoto get used a lot more around here. Simple little thing, but so handy.
"The Yoto app is decent overall and..."
The Yoto app is decent overall and usually does what it needs to do, but it can definitely be slow here and there. Loading cards or updating the player sometimes takes longer than I’d like, and every now and then I have to try a couple times to get it connected. Not a huge deal, but it’s annoying when my kid is standing there waiting. It’s not bad, just not as smooth as I was hoping. Hopefully they keep improving it.

"Shipping was faster than I expected tbh"
I ordered from yotoplay.com and the whole shipping process was super smooth. Got the tracking email quickly, and it kept updating the whole way, so I wasn’t left wondering where my order was lol.
The box showed up a couple days earlier than I expected, which was a nice surprise. Everything was packed fine, nothing damaged or missing, so yeah, no complaints from me. It was just easy tbh.

"Easy to use, just a few small hiccups"
Yoto was easy to use. I didn’t have to click around forever to find what I was looking for, and the pages loaded without any issues. Everything felt straightforward, which I appreciated. I’m giving it 4 stars just because a couple things could be a little clearer at first, like where certain options are. But after messing around with it for a few minutes, it was totally fine.

"My son was really into this..."
My son was really into this at first, and some of the cards still keep him busy for a good while. But it’s hit or miss. Some days he’s all over it like it’s the best thing ever, and other days he tosses it aside like, “nah, this is boring.” Kids are weird little chaos gremlins, so I’m not too shocked. Still decent, just not something he plays with every single day.

"Super easy parental controls"
The parental controls are really simple to use. I was able to set limits without poking around forever, which I appreciate. It almost feels like they made this with busy parents in mind, though I’m just guessing

"Finally something that keeps them off screens"
My kids have been using this every day, and it’s been a relief not dealing with the usual tablet fights. I was a little hesitant at first because I never fully trust customer service to be helpful if something goes wrong, but so far we haven’t had any issues. It’s just been easy, fun, and actually keeps them busy without a screen.

"I wasn’t totally sure it was going…"
I wasn’t totally sure it was going to work at first, but it actually fixed my issue fast. I kind of thought I might still have to troubleshoot more, but thankfully that wasn’t the case.

"Nice little player, but the Wi-Fi gave me trouble"
My kids really enjoy the Yoto, so I do like it overall. I’ll admit I’m not the most patient person when setting up tech, especially when I’m trying to get it done quickly, but the Wi-Fi setup was kind of annoying. It disconnects every now and then and takes me a few tries to get it back online. Once it’s connected, though, it works just fine and the kids are happy with it.

"Nice looking site, but I felt a bit brushed off"
I’ll give yotoplay.com credit, the site looks really clean. The colors and layout are fun without feeling cluttered, and it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. That said, when I had a question, I kind of felt dismissed, which took away from the overall experience a bit. Design-wise though, it definitely feels well put together.

"Tiny speaker, annoyingly good sound"
I got this for my kid and, of course, it sounds better than half the speakers I’ve bought for myself. Voices come through really clear, music doesn’t crackle even when it’s turned up a bit, and it’s actually great for bedtime stories. It’s not that tinny, irritating sound you get from some small speakers, which was a nice surprise. Sadly, now my kid’s audio setup might be better than mine.

"Great for different ages, but be warned"
We got a Yoto player for my 4-year-old, and it’s been a really good fit for him. He can use it on his own without me worrying he’s going to end up on random videos or apps like he would with a tablet.
The cards are simple to choose from, and I like that there are quiet bedtime stories as well as more upbeat ones for during the day. Just a warning though: once they get into picking their own cards, they may want to listen all the time.
My older kid still uses it here and there too, so it doesn’t feel like one of those things they outgrow immediately. Overall, we’ve been really happy with it...

"Worth it since we use it so much"
It definitely isn’t the cheapest thing we’ve bought, but we use it all the time so it feels worth the money. The cards can add up after a while, which is a little annoying, but not enough to make me regret it. Weirdly, I still remember opening the box and there was one tiny scrap of cardboard stuck to the corner like it refused to leave. Overall though, we’ve gotten a lot of use out of it

"Really great variety for the kids"
I’ve been really happy with the selection on Yoto. There’s a nice mix of stories, music, learning bits, and calmer bedtime options, so it doesn’t feel like we’re just rotating through the same few cards all the time. My kids are different ages, but they both still manage to find things they really like, which is not always easy. We’ve found some old favourites and discovered a few new ones too. The website is easy enough to browse, and I really like that there’s always something new to add.

"Offline listening has been a lifesaver"
We use our Yoto Player offline most of the time, it’s been so easy. I downloaded the cards before a long road trip, kind of assuming there might be some Wi-Fi-related hassle once we were on the road, but there wasn’t any drama at all. My kid happily listened for hours. It’s simple, reliable, and really convenient.

"Works for bedtime, even if it’s not flawless"
We use the sleep routine most nights and it really does help my kid wind down, so I don’t think it’s fair to say it doesn’t work. The sounds are calming and my child seems to settle faster with them. That said, changing the timing can be kind of annoying when bedtime shifts, and I wish it was quicker to adjust without messing around so much. It’s not perfect, but it’s still been useful for us.

"Super easy to bring along"
I’ve been really happy with how easy this is to take anywhere. We’ve brought it in the car, over to grandma’s house, and even outside in the yard. The battery has held up well for us, and my kid can carry it around without me stressing too much. after using it like this, I feel like anything this portable is kind of a must-have for families on the go.

"Holding up well so far"
We’ve had our Yoto player for about 8 months now, and my kid definitely doesn’t treat it gently. It’s been dropped off the sofa and dragged all over the house, but it still works fine. The plastic has a few scuffs and the knob feels just a little loose, but nothing is broken. Overall, I’m happy with it.

"Still happy with the battery overall"
Overall, I’m happy with the battery life. We use the Yoto player most days, and it usually lasts through bedtime and a bit of play the next day. I do find myself needing to remember to charge it a little more often than I thought I would, but it’s still been decent for our routine.

"A nice screen-free way to keep kids curious"
I’ve been happy with this so far. My kid seems to pick up a lot from it, and it keeps them curious without needing a screen, which I really appreciate. It’s not something they’ll use for hours on end, but when they do, it feels like genuinely good learning time.
